5th Annual Bricks and Spokes Bike Ride

The Vicksburg Main Street Program is proud to announce their 5th Annual Bricks and Spokes Bike Ride to be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014, in beautiful downtown Vicksburg. Participants will get to experience our beautiful bluffs and rolling landscapes while participating in the event.

Whether you are just starting out or an expert rider, Bricks and Spokes is a great ride for you! The 5th Annual Bricks and Spokes will feature a 10, 30, 50 and 62 mile ride. All rides will begin in beautiful Downtown Vicksburg and will travel south to the Old Mississippi River Bridge.

The route will go down Washington Street and travel to the Old Mississippi River Bridge and take you onto country roads. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as the route includes flat areas of Louisiana and the great rolling hills of Vicksburg and Warren County. The ride will be fully supported by volunteers at rest areas and with SAG vehicles.

Last year's ride included almost 250 riders, and this year's event is expected to exceed 300 plus individuals. On top of participants, the program is looking for sponsors and volunteers to make sure the event is a success. Volunteers can be individuals or companies - this event can serve as a great team building exercise or volunteer project for your company. Companies are welcome to sponsor rest areas where riders will stop for snacks and beverages.

All proceeds from the ride will go to further the mission and goals of the Vicksburg Main Street Program and assist downtown Vicksburg in promotions, beautification, and economic restructuring. Bricks and Spokes is a great way to get your family moving and help sustain downtown and Vicksburg, along with the wonderful businesses in our downtown area!
