Local Developers to Open New Retail and Long Term Rentals

The Vicksburg Main Street Program is pleased to announce a new addition to our downtown family! Real estate agents and developers Mary Jane Wooten and Daryl Hollingsworth have recently purchased the former Warehouse property where they plan to renovate the building to include mixed use retail and 17 units for corporate and long term rentals. Their new business venture named Live! Work! Play! – Downtown Vicksburg will offer units that will have a "big city flair" that will appeal to a clientele that would like cosmopolitan luxury while residing in downtown Vicksburg.

Each unit will include amenities such as fireplaces, stainless steel appliances, hardwood and cork floors, exposed brick walls, in-unit washer and dryers, secure entrance, a courtyard, and so much more. Residents will be able to walk out their door to enjoy many of what downtown Vicksburg has to offer including walking to work, shops, churches, restaurants, and many other attractions in the district.

They will also in the next several months open the The Wine House-Wine Tasting and Lite Bites in the former Lounge on the property. Wine tasters will be able to delight in seasonal wines that may be purchased by the ounce, glass or bottle from their state of the art wine preservation and dispensing system. Not only will patrons be able to taste various wines they will be able to enjoy a variety of tapas or lite bites that can also be served along with other spirits or beer if everyone in your party is not a wine connoisseur.

We believe The Wine House-Wine Tasting and Lite Bites restaurant will add to the variety of the culinary delights our downtown area offers. With the addition of the residential units here in the 1400 block coupled with the residential units at the Trustmark Bank Building and the Aeolian we are expecting a large number of new residents. Each new addition to the downtown will add to the wonderful and positive living experience each new resident will come to love and enjoy. Just think you can walk out your door enjoy a great day of shopping and food and then walk back to your apartment at the end of the day. Not to mention how this will cater to the many tourists who travel through Vicksburg and stay overnight this will allow them a comfortable atmosphere to relax, unwind and reflect on the adventures of the day.
